who is she?

she views the world through rose colored glasses • loves to throw dinner parties, but has been known to burn the roast • values eccentricity over convention • is the first to laugh at her own bad jokes • knows the cha-cha, the charleston, and the tango • paints her nails bright coral when she's feeling blue • is infinitely curious • could happily live off of red velvet cake • pens hand written notes to her grandmother • has a signature shade of lipstick • secretly thinks she may be babe paley reincarnated • she will never give up her library card • has a bucket list a mile long and dreams a dime a dozen • is smart, but never a show-off • listens to the day's forecast, but trusts her own intuition • never says no to a sunday matinee at the theater • is quick to blush, but never short of a witty reply • has a skip in her step and a twinkle in her eye • always shares her last piece of gum •

how do they know me so well!?

Favorite

things this week: City in a jar taking iconic city landmarks and making them wearable works of art.

I wonder if I could get Bologna, New York, Los Angeles and San Diego all in one jar?

Afternoon daydreaming never hurt anyone....right?

I'm inspired by Slim Aarons, and this afternoon I want to escape poolside to sip a tom collins or a dirty martini, listen to some 1961 vinyls playing from inside our beach front bungalow and have only the worries of lazy summer afternoons.

Tomorrow Slim, let's go Riveria poolside....

life meet art

I recently stumbled upon Jenny Holzer, a conceptual artist from America, and her light projects on public buildings.

Her sharing of intimate moments of love and desire for the world, around the world, makes me stop and reflect back on my own memories of love and life in those particular spots.

Life or Art?

Both!

Being back in California, it's not as easy as it once was to visit the Guggenheim, but they've partnered up with You Tube and on Oct. 21st will be presenting top 20 videos from students, filmmakers, composers, you name it. A little trip to the museum, even if you're three thousand miles away.

My vote is for Keith Loutit and "Bathtube IV" (f.y.i- the people are real!)

It reminds me of one of my favorite urban street artists from London, Slinkachu who photographs mini scenes with toys in the city (and was recently in Italy!) See his blog here!

Both take this big world and make it a little bit smaller (literally) and a lot more fun!

Check Keith's video below!
